OUR CHURCH

Virgin Mary & St. Demiana Church has been serving New York, New Jersey and Connecticut communities for nearly three decades. The parish is located in North White Plains, NY, but is of the Coptic Orthodox faith, which was established almost 2,000 years ago during the apostolic age when Saint Mark, an apostle of the Lord Jesus Christ and author of the oldest canonical gospel, ministered in Egypt. Within half a century, the land that was ruled by the pharaohs and practiced paganism became a Christian nation. The Coptic Church is known as the Church of the Martyrs because of persecutions its believers have endured for over two millennias and until this day. Despite this, it has preserved the teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ and apostles without deviation and has produced some of the greatest theologians in Christendom. The Church maintains its traditions and teachings since the first century. Come partake in the faith whose existence is traced back to the apostles of the Lord Jesus Christ. We can't wait to see you!
